Last week we looked at the encounter of Philip and Peter with a magician named Simon Magus. And we called that message, false faith, false follower, and false prophet. Simon Magus claimed to believe, he was even baptized, and yet Peter was able to discern by the Holy Spirit that Simon was not a true believer. Peter said that Simon was still bound in iniquity. He had never truly repented and was consequently never saved.
